Year 10 Mac Experience!

Monday, December 17th, 2007

Last week in Applied ict we were lucky enough to recieve 10 apple macs to play with for the week. In small groups we used them creatively to make our own podcasts on certain issues or just anything we came up with. We also used google.docs to write up our scripts and use the collaberate feature so we could each edit it at the same time to make editing much faster and simpler.

To create our podcasts we used several different programmes on the macs to get all the desired effects. We mainly used garageband to record and edit our podcasts and to add background music before saving and exporting it into itunes to listen to the final cut.

We then used the macs built in bluetooth to send our podcasts to our phones.
We enjoyed the use of the Macs, and would love to have the opportunity to do this again.

If you enjoyed the session then feel free to leave your coments here!

Welcome to the Priory ICT Blog

Tuesday, April 4th, 2006

Blogs are great things for keeping you up to date.  Remember that ANYBODY IN THE WORLD can see what you write, so be careful.  In this blog you will only be able to write comments - and they will be seen by your teacher before they appear on the blog.

What can a blog be used for?  Often it’s a way of keeping a diary of your daily events, thinking about them and reflecting on them so that you can improve the way you work. You can permit other people to make comments on your postings so that you get a number of opinions about your progress, or get help with things you are unsure of.  It’s not a good idea to be too harsh to people who respond - try to understand their point of view.  A blog can get really popular - if you write about intersting things you can get a global conversation going!

What would YOU use a blog for?  Add a comment to this posting to suggest ways you might use a blog.   A hint - DON’T post your real name ANYWHERE, use your school username.  You will be asked to post your email address, but this is not made public.

Who knows, you might be assigned your own blog to use if you make a good enough suggestion!
